Ah yes,
THe old shaking. This is not a problem.
I just realized that 240sx, ( I have a 1993 also) DOCH,
the power kicks in after 4000 rpm.
When you Shift conservatively, meaning, when you shift early, at 2,000 and it goes into the next gear, on the next gear, you will feel and hear and noticable amount of "shaking".
I believe this is because, being that 240sx are rear wheel drive, there needs to be sufficient RPMs to spin the drive shaft and rear wheels.
Shaking is basically caused by a slow RPM when the power is low.
If you shift correctly which i suggest, at 3,500 rpm to 4,500 rpm everything should be good.
CORRECT WAY OF SHIFTING:
- Driving in First Gear Then - 3,000-3,500 RPM .- Shift
- Now in 2nd- 3,500 rpm-Shift
- 3rd-3000 to 4000 rpm shift.
So on.
From numerous days and nights driving as well as daily driving, I keep it above 3,000 rpm.
WRONG WAY:
-FIRST GEAR- 1,500- 2000rpm - Shift
-Second gear- 2,500 rpm-shift.
I have a friend that shifts 4 times in 2 seconds. Let me motor and gear run and don't worry about the REV.
3,500-4,000 rpm is the recommended shift point. in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th.
Torque kicks in at 4,500 rpm. LIKE VTEC. lol.
