Okay, I've searched and even called Jacob over at Courtesy Nissan, and I'm completely out of my depth with this one. I need help on a "For Dummies" level. Has anyone out there actually *done* this before?

The guy who started the sr swap before I bought the car tore out all the hicas hydrolics except the reservoir. All the lines are cut and the pump is completely missing. I wanted to eliminate the hicas anyway, so I'm going that route.

All the write-ups I've seen were for people who still had an intact system and just wanted to eliminate it. I have a non-hicas PS pump, but what do I need in terms of parts and install to make it work (please be specific)? I would prefer NOT to buy a new rack or swap out the rear subframe just yet, but if an new rack is required, then so be it, I guess.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Okay, that first post was a jumbled mess. Here's a better account.

Of the original hicas system, the following components remain:

solenoidall 4 hardlinesfeeder line from rack to reservoirreservoir line to pump

I already have a non-hicas PS pump

So, it looks like the rear lines can be blocked off and left dry. So if I get a non-hicas reservoir, run a line bypassing the solenoid to the pump and then get the piece that connects the reservoir line to the pump, that should be all good?

Please let me know. Pics will be rewarded with cookies!
