Hey guys... I'm wondering if anyone else has had an issue with the door locks in the S13's. Here.s the deal.

I had an alarm unit installed with keyless entry, which worked fine up untiil a year or so ago. When I would disarm the system, the power locks would unlock and then immediately relock themselves.

I went earlier today to get a new alarm installed (impluse buy, it's one of the ones with the motion sensors and what not) and they said they're having the same problem. After three other installers from different stores looked at it, they agreed/colluded that it was a deal with the wiring somewhere, and that I should take it to the dealership and have them check it out.

Have any of you had this problem? If so, what was the cause and how did you fix it?

Thanks very much!

I'm not 100% sure but I think it has something to do with a negitive signal going to your locks. You probably have the lock line(+12volts) touching a negitive signal some how. Our cars have a positive signal type lock/unlock system. When one of the Unlock/Lock lines (both are +12) touches the negitive signal it activates that operation. When I got my alarm installed I had to cut the negitive line from my driver door and just attach it to the lock/unlock signal from the alarm. When it was installed with the neg. line uncut it wouldn't respond to the unlock and lock button on the remote. It is 3 lines one of them is black (-) the others are I think Orange(+12) and Orange with black strip (+12) Take off your door panel and look at your lock mechanism to make sure. The line I cut was at the connector of the door next to the kickwall of driver side. Good luck

Installer said that's what he tried. Any other suggestions?

Its probably a problem with your TCU. My schematic here says that pin #18 controls the door lock/unlock feature from the driver's side. I think the TCU is located under the middle console in your car. You know, the plastic compartment between the seats that i throw stuff into.

Hold on, im looking it up to see if that's the real switch you are looking for...

Check that, I was wrong.

The door timer unit is located behind the ECU. Behind the passenger side bottom right plastic kick guard. If looking at the devices in there, it is the furthest right of all the boxes. I would try and mess with the connections alittle and see then about replacing it or something. Here's a pic of where to find it.

Its the black box thing right in the middle of the photo with the yellow connector at the bottom.

Okay, thanks... I'll have to look into that.

Any idea on how much one of those suckers would cost? I can get actuators installed for cheaper possibly.
