Hoffman isn't noobsafe.

Just edit your previous thread, copy the contents, and paste them here. If the syntax is different (for instance displaying images), then change it accordingly.

EDIT: Been reading your thread. Looking good so far, just post updates here.

You're a noob through and through, in more ways than one ;). I'm a car noob too; I would know.

Finished reading your thread; you should stick with the KA and turbo it. Seriously. Do it.

This is most of the pictures. If anyone wants to u can still click my thread link to see all the comments and everything i did to car. dont wanna type everything all over again and to much to do right now lol. But heres alot of the pics so u get the idea. Anyways....i love 240's and mine. I have an AEM intake, Pacesetter Header, full 3'' exhaust with huge can (that i hate) lol. to raspy for me but will do for now. Also those rims i got for $50 and repainted myself with 2 brand new tires. 205/50/17 and just need one more 215/45/17 for the last rim so i can throw on last two. then swap 205's to front. Ummmm....whole engine was taken down to head and has all new gaskets and everything but no new internals or nothing was just putting together to get done for now. Has electric fans, new MOOG inner and outter tie rods, new p/s rack with energy bushings, Circuit sports mounts, Fujii SPL p/s line, Unorthodox racing pulley, sportline springs all around, brand new 15'' beidgestone insignias, got all 4 calipers in good condition only put rears on for now with brand new advance auto rotors and EBC Redstuff pads. new battery and alternator. i dont know if theres to much more pretty much everything was kinda replaced and new gasketed lol. I dont know my future plans but gonna try and go sr20 swap over winter. even tho i wanna do ka-t but i wanna save and do that right and build it over time. Trying to find new job right now so no money coming in and not much to do to it right now. Deff wanna get my diff welded asap. My only problems i can see is the clutch engages wayyyyy to high and kinda goes into gear lil hard. But a friend and me adjusted clutch we thought the pedal was supposed to have 1'' free play but i looked and its supposed to be 1-3mm. so i have to fix that and see if it changes anything(hopefully :/) The stupid nut on master cylinder wont come off for me but my friend can get it. everytime i try t rounds and i dont know why lol. but ill kepp trying. might just replace cylinder cuz new one never huert anything and pretty cheap. Other than that tho...only problem i noticed is idling high like 1000-1200 rpms dont really drop when i push clutch in either so wondering if thats IACV, Clutch not being adjusted right, hoses are all new, maybe TPS? not sure yet but really annoying and wanna figure it out lol. just replaced fuel injector cuz 3rd cylinder s*** out on me. car got towed and had to go get it luckily i know a guy and he only charged me $60 to tow it from saratoga to clifton park. Like 30-35 mins for those of u that dont know. Only other thing i can think to say cuz its late IS!.....COMPRESSION TEST! :ohno: Actually was really good lol thank god! cyl#1: 180 cyl#2: 185 cly#3: 180 cyl#4: 188. So im happy with that with about 170,000 miles proly close to 180 by now. Also car was an 90(white) and maroon is 93 someone swapped panels so i had to convert everything to DOHC lol thats y i got diff p/s line. So any question comments or anything plz leave em. I will be updating here alot more when i finally have updates to do lol. Alottttt of cool 240's on here and this site is great. sorry about long story haha. Thanks for looking and hope u enjoy LOL.

LOL^ yeah i guess i am but i know alotttttttttt more than i did before and cant wait to learn more man. u dont even know. i wanna stick with it but i wanna go turbo so badddddddddd lol. was thinking of sr over winter and build the ka up while i have sr in. i wanna drift on that site my threads on. they do lvd events and wanna do it to but want a turbo car. rebuilding ka is way more work than swapping sr. but theres always chance u get bad sr motor to and have to do more on it than u bargained for so i really dont know. guess it depends on wat job i find and my money situation tho. funny how u reply right before i post everything LOL. thanks man

I like reading, but I think I'm some kind of alien. Most people won't read a wall of text.

Don't worry about your idle until you actually set the timing.

1. Disengage TPS.
2. Start car.
3. Adjust IACV until RPM is at 650.
4. Adjust distributor to get 20degrees with timing light.
5. Plug in TPS. Idle should be about 750RPMs.

I'm looking for reliability with my build. If you want something immediately with turbo, I would get an SR from a trusted source. If it blows, and you can afford to go without the car for a while, I'd just build up the SR at that point.

no timing is 20degrees BTDC. i have unorthodox pulley. and its kinda far from pin so hard to judge if its dead on but me and my buddy set it few mights ago and he said it was fine. i adjusted it myself to by ear and he said it was good. idle is at 750 but not lately cuz its doing that. idk y.

alos yeah^^ wouldnt hurt to have ka and sr tho haha.... i was gonna go with japanstar or theres anmother site on here. im not sure yet. when i know tho everyone else will haha.

Oh... Between the last time I did my timing and now I forgot. I think 15deg is what it jumps to with the TPS connected at idle. I'll change my other post; I don't like disinformation.

As for high idle, I know vacuum leaks can cause it... incorrect IACV settings... TPS problems... CS (coolant sensor) problems... and I think knock sensor problems. I'm tired . It's bed time.

I would pull out the damned ECU and check for codes, and also try setting the IACV with a screwdriver.

LOL yeah same bed soon haha....yeah i know cuz i looked alot and also sticker under my hood tells me to haha for timing. No emissions on car and i replaced all the hoses and capped em off. so i dont think its vacuum but i could be wrong. have to chack IACV still, tps to not sure but my buddy knows how to help with that and show me haha. coolant sensor i think is kinda loose like it goes on but i can pull it right off. maybe try connector cleaner and fogure out way to hold it on or get new one have to check tomoro. Knock sensor is new to btw lol. yeah i just swapped ecus to an auto one i doubt thats the problem but yeah ill should pull codes for hell of it. thanks man and thanks for looking haha gnight to u.

Well I'm Dustin and I'm over at Twin Lakes. Heres a couple pics of my car. As of right now its in PA since I have a full garage there to work on it. I'll problably bring it up to clifton park some time this summer. I've seen quite a few 240s even a couple of GTRs in the area, so I take it nissans are kind of popular around here.
