I've got a 93' 240sx that I just bought. When I turned on the left turn signal, it started to blink fast. I soon noticed that the left front blinker was not working to its full brightness potential, but still working. I picked up new wiring and housing for the bulb today at the local auto parts store and replaced the old socket that held the bulb in place. The blinker was now blinking at normal speed, but when I messed with the wires connected to the bulb to reinstall the bulb, it got bright and then dim, then went out. I noticed then that the running lights did not work and the dash lights were also turned off. Immediately thinking it was a fuse, I checked them all, even the fuses under the hood, but there wasn't a bad fuse. My right turn signal, brake lights, and my hazards still work except for the front left, but my dash lights and running lights won't turn on. I also realized the new bulb socket wouldn't fit in the orange plastic running light so I cut the clip to the wires and re-installed the old socket, still nothing works. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I've rechecked all my passenger fuses and bought a Chilton manual, but still no luck. It could be something in the fuse box under the hood, but I have checked all of the fuses, and no luck. Maybe I'm missing something?

Problem is fixed. The bulb socket had a short. I triple checked the passenger fuse box in the day time and found that the tail lamp fuse was blown.
