I haven't done any transmission work on this car, and it has only a fifth gear synchro left. However this doesnt seem like a gear box problem.

I was driving regularily today and i came to a stop at a light. When i went to put it in first gear i couldn't get it to go, even though the clutch pedal felt fine. Eventually i just jammed it into second gear and busted a u-turn to go home.

It doesn't want to go into gear obviously, but when it is in gear and the pedal is fully depressed it starts creeping forward. I checked the fluid level and its fine, right at the line in the middle. It is interesting to note that when the clutch is fully depressed while the car is in gear it makes whineing noise, but if you back off just a little bit it stops.

Broken clutch fork pivot? bent clutch fork? throwout bearing? i read all the posts, but no one really has a description of the symptoms

I needed to get to school this morning so i drove it out there.

Sometimes after a shift the pedal would get harder, but only at the end of the travel and at this point i would lose haivng a clutch all together. I had to roll it in rush hour, and when i go home i'm going to have to roll it in rush hour.

the weird part is sometimes it is completely impossible to disengage the clutch, but other times it partially disengages. right now its parked and stuck engaged. i had to put it in 1st adn use the started to wove the car, then move it to reverse adn repeat adn repeat. can you image how much fun it is to paralell park ina tight spot with no clutch useing the started to move?

sound like anything familiar? right now i either need to pull a motor in one car and tighten driveplate bolts, or pull the transmission in this car, which will probably involve pulling the motor too. I just want to make sure i need to pull stuff before i do anything

Try bleeding it before anything else.

i pulled the motor out of the other car and i'll finish putting it back in tomorrow, it'll be nice to get that car running right anyway

I didnt do anything clutchwise recently, so i don't think it would have all the sudden stopped working

i drove just under 50 total miles today, almost all in rush hour, no clutch, one synchro
