Hey everyone, So ive been battling with this kade for about a month and a half now. It still wont start unless i prime the intake with fuel, once i do get it running it has rough idle at about 500 RPM, it wont rev past 4000 RPM, and it only runs til about quarter throttle. If i give it any more throttle than that it misses like crazy and only runs about 2500 RPM. While it is running if i hold it at full throttle and give it some fuel manually through the intake it revs up to 6500 no problem. The only code im getting off the ecu is a code 34 for the knock sensor, I pulled the knock sensor and it is toast a new one is on the way. I have 40 pounds of fuel pressure at all times, all the injectors are pulsing, the TPS and MAF are working perfectly and i have continuity through all the wires back to the ecu. I tried an ecu in it and i had the same problem so i just tried a distributor/CAS and that didnt help it either. Im running out of possibilities here. All the ignition is working awesome and the cam and ignition timing are perfect. The only thing i can think of is that the knock sensor is causing it to not run?? Is it even possible for a knock sensor to cause this type of problem? any help would be greatly appreciated as i am running out of ideas and things to try.

yes the knock sensor is putting the comp in "limp in" mode so you dont blow up your motor, if it were really detecting knocks you would be happy it was keeping your engine from blowing up. but for now its just a pain, at least thats my understanding.

ok, the new knock sensor should be here tuesday wednesday. Ill try it, if it is sending the ecu into limp mode, it just might be the problem.

Replaced the knock sensor today, im getting a code 55 at the ecu so everything is good. However, the car is doing exactly the same things it was before. I am now completely clueless, i have no idea where to begin next!!

have you disconnected the battery for 15 min or so to reset the computer?

yes i did, still same problem, code 55... im going to try a consult scan on it and see if everything is giving proper voltages or if there is any dead spots.

Check resistance in all the grounds under the hood, then check your MAF. I know you said it's good but double check, that really sounds like your problem. Stick a prong the back of the plug on the signal wire and see if it's in spec

thats my next move, it really sounds like the maf. SInce after eighth throttle it does the typical 2500 rpm sputter... the maf may work up to a certain amount of air flow. Just wondering what the spec is for the signal wire going to the ecu? how should it be putting out at idle to WOT?
