93 240 coolent filling

Hi I just got around to doing a radiator flush on my car and everything was fine until I went to put in the 7 1/8 quarts of coolant, distilled water, and that water wetter stuff. I was pouring in my water after the fourth or fifth flush and it topped off at 3-1/2 quarts. What's going on? I was going by the steps in my chiltons manual. On my last flush everything was coming out clear I ran my car and everything is good but I want that old coolant out. What did I stupidly overlook?

i didnt put all 7 1/8 in. dunno why but yea

there was still a lot of water left in the system, when you flush theres still water left in the engine passageways (thats why u have to flush so many times to get clear water to run out)

im not sure if theres a way to get all the water out, i will be doing my flush soon when i get some new electric fans and a new rad cap.

also when u first put water back in theres air pockets everywhere, you have to bleed that air out and u keep topping off the radiator as fluid is lost. i also think that max capacity takes into account the coolant reservoir

Schuck's has Chilton's, and I would imagine lots of places do too.

Schucks, Checkers, and Kragen are all owned by the same company, and they should all carry the same parts and books. Did you try asking at the front desk?
