So I've been wanting to swap a v8 in my s14 ever since I saw the price tag on an sr. This will be a budget build to say the least, and, correct me if I'm wrong but the 1uz seems like the cheapest reliable way to go with the engine being cheap and being able to use ka transmission.
I've done motor swaps but I've never done a hybrid swap so any input will be appreciated.
So I got a 1uzfe out of a 93 ls400 yesterday with the ecm and all plugs for ecm, the wires are cut so splicing is in the near future. But it all ran me $200 so I can't really complain.
There aren't many specifics of this swap out there, I know I need a clutch and flywheel from a 3sgte, and an extended pilot bushing, and I may have to notch my crossmember due to front sump oil pan. I removed a/c compressor and will sacrifice p/s if I have to
I will post pics of engine tomorrow as well as pics of removal of ka. Any specifics I should know, please tell me before I get too in depth.

You're heading into some seldomly treaded waters there man.
Figure you'll need custom engine mounts, and possibly lots of fab work to just make everything line up. I guess just try and post pictures as you go and we'll try to put multiple heads together.

Have you Google searched this topic or used the search function on this forum? There's definitely information out there. Xcessive Manufacturing makes quite a few things for the 1UZ swap: http://xcessivemanufacturing.com/index. ... e/1uz.html

Search around some. I've personally seen some build threads with lots of info in them.
