after having some problems with local ez lube who made my check engine appear, took it to dealer where they reset the ecu or whatnot, drove great for few days.

took a 100 mile round trip, drove great, this morning, engine cranks, but it won't turn over. tried gas pedal to force it, but nothing.

dealer initially told me because of camshaft angle sensor was out, so timing was retarded. but if the sensor is out, wouldn't it work at all?

damn, hate to get a towing truck to take it somewhere, any thoughts?

fuel pump? damn i hope not, but if i can't start it today, will have the mechanic take a look at that too. i think it's got something to do with that angle sensor, connection, maf , but --- who knows at this point..

If it is the fuel pump....part price is not too bad...$234 from Joe. Remove and replace labor is pretty easy DIY...2 to 3 hrs...even for someone with no experience. Pump control is a litle more pricey $350 or so but a little easier to R&R. I have no experience with the MAF or CAS (fingers crossed) so I am no help there.

When you say "won't turn over" do you mean the engine does not "catch" and run like it should or do you mean that the engine does not spin at all when you turn the key?

Totally different problems.

psychicwhen trying to start, it'll want to start, but does not. does that make sense? so it will make the noise, but won't fire up..

Can you hear the fuel pump when the key is turned on? Try sitting in the trunk to see if you can hear it when someone else turns the key.

I'd suspect a sensor problem, but it could be the fuel pump. Try pulling the codes and checking fuel pressure.

I think the car will still run without a CAS, albeit crappy and limp home.

After the fuel pump checks out, try moving the MAF connector. The lube guys may have messed with it changing the oil filter from above instead of below (the correct way). Also check othe posts for problems with this connector.:)

I think the car will still run in "limp home" if the CAS is messed up. I'd try to clean and wiggle all the "regular suspects" connectors.

If that doesn't work, try pulling codes out of your ECU.

hey dudesi shelled out some cashish and got the fuel pump and filter replaced. car started up right away and it's never been so quiet.

this new mechanic dude rechecked everything and turns out my CAS was fine, it was fuel pump all along.

i can't trust the dealer anymore.thanks for your inputs.

Glad to hear you got it fixed....sounded like a fuel issue from your initial description. FYI...when you hear the fuel pump humming, it's time to change it out.

That's one of the differences between fords / dodges and Infinitis. Hearing the pump on a cheaper car means it's actually working, then you check the fuel pressure. I'm still kinda new to this flagship stuff....
