Hello Gang,First time posting.

My 92Q that I love, recently started to show some problems.I checked the MAF, connections and etc, but its rough idling is getting worse.

It has new fuel pump, filters.

I must admit, I drove couple of times with tank nearly empty and someone suggested it might be fuel injectors clogging up.

I've also heard there might be a place where one can buy rebuilt fuel injectors online???

You guys been through it all, so I wait for your advice.

I would not recommend "rebuilt" injectors. They cannot be rebuilt, only cleaned and inspected. At best you can get a used injector that has a good spray pattern. If they're cheap enough you can give them a try on #1 and #2, but another member recently had problems with so-called rebuilds. Get your money back maybe, but you're still doing the job twice. If you think they're clogging try running some BG44K cleaner through the system or get a rail flush done. The injectors can be ohmed to check their resistance--the problem could be electrical, but unlikely within the injector if it's intermittent. How many miles and how old are the plugs? Could the problem be a miss in one or more cylinders?

it's got about 120k. it's due for plug changes for sure.also, i did the self diagnosis and i think it was 5-4 or 4-5, and when looked up in the manual, it pointed to fuel injectors. this is why i thought was the problem.

then again, when it was at the dealer one point, diagnosis read that it needed CAS, which was very pricey.

check engine light sometimes shows then it goes away too.

maybe i should burn it and buy a 2002 q....

If your CEL is going off and on with an injector code it may be a harness issue. Intermittent connection from corroded pins. Clean them up or, better yet, do a full plenum hose job and replace the harness at teh same time. Replace the spark plugs. They may provide clues on how the car's running. CAS is very robust; the connector isn't. Clean up the connection there as well. Before you burn it let me stop by and harvest as many parts as I can!

This morning, the Q didn't start. I have a brand new battery in it.After jumping it, local mechanic assessed the situation and found that connectors on + side of battery that leads to dash, starter was defective.

dirty as hell.

so, he replaced that. now the Q runs smooth like a mutha******

i wonder if this could have been the problem all along with rough idling.

Definitely possible. All bets are off if the computer doesn't get enough juice. If there was a loose connection and the voltage was spiking and dropping out, I can see how that might give a rough idle. Friend's 300zx had a similar problem recently, with the engine dropping out randomly. Bad connection burned my finger, but it was a quick way to find the problem.

the drama never stops in hollywood.

q failed to start again this morning, jumped it, took it to local shop.

later he found out my stock radio with cd changer was shorting out.

the cd changer was acting up recently, turining itself on n off.

so fuses for the radio came out, now the q is rolls like a silk.

i keep wondering if this q is worth the pain in the neck. i only love it when it runs like a silent rocket.

I wonder how many cars have been ruined by stereo "butcher" jobs?
