Motor mounts can leaking silicon. Check for wetness around mounts.Set park brake and with engine started, put into drive, with foot on brake, raise engine speed to 1500 -1600 rpm momentarily. Have someone watch engine. If mounts are loose/bad the engine will more than just move, more like twist. Being it is a'92, why not replace them if you are in it that deep?

Exactly as the incremental labor cost is close to zero.

At 14 years, I guarantee they are toast. Don't for get the third (transmission mount) also, along with the hangers.

90-96 Q motor mounts are SOLID RUBBER NO SILICONE.........they just harden and crack with age after 70-100k like everything else on vehicles.

Impossible to see defect just budget to change them every 120,000 miles or 8-10 years along with everything else made of rubber.

Why old used cars don't ride/handle/drive like new the rubber components are shot............multi hundreds of them.
