92 vlsd into an 89 question!

hey all,

My buddies swapin a vlsd from a 92 coupe into is 89 hatch and he was told that he may need a different drive shaft. His does not have the vlsd, and thats why he's swapin this in. However his car has ABS and so did the donor car. Does anyone know if a different drive shaft is needed or can he use his exsiting one? And are there any other complications he may need to know?

According to the socal240sx.com FAQs, it says that LSD is only available on the fastbacks, not on the coupes. Is this false information?

Yep I believe it is true in the U.S. and Canada.

hmmm, thats weird. i though the coupes did have them? BTW everything went in easy for him. Thanks for the replies.

i have a 90 240 fastback but dont know if it has LSD. how can i tell besides burning out (engine doesnt run waiting for SR20) and can any1 explain VLSD versus a normal LSD?

Well it is simple. LSD didnt come on 1990 240's

Also the diferential has an orange sticker on it that says VLSD....if it is. Look on ebay. I saw a Q45 LSD on tehre and it had an orange sticker
