I have a 1992 Maxima with the VE30DE engine. I had a horrible gas smell and it was diagnosed by the dealer as leaky fuel injectors. I replaced the injectors with new ones this past weekend. Right after the repair, it ran flawlessly. I shut it down and started it a couple hours later. I then had the awful fuel smell again, and very rough idle. Obviously, it's a sensor or something electrical. Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem and was advised to just tighten all the clamps on all the fuel hoses esp near the fuel filter.. as for the idle that could be many things.. make sure you don't have a vacuum leak anywhere in the intake, it may be the idle air valve going bad, or could be any number of other routine maintenance issues
