92 S13 Engine and Trans?

I recently picked up a 92 S13 with a KA24DE DOHC engine.... now, I have to do a ring job on the engine...and I also need to do a synchro/seal kit on the transmission. Both have 220k miles on it. I was wondering if anyone in the New England area knows of a place I can pickup a cheap engine and trans to rebuild while I drive the car around, so I don't have to go without the car for a couple weeks.
