What kind of battery did you use?

Does it comply with OEM specs?

Is the battery fully charged?

Is power getting to the starter?

Have you checked all the fuses?

Did you make sure its not the alarm kicking in?

Try unlocking the drivers or passenger door and see if the car starts.

Cleaned up this thread... Anyway, onto helping the original poster..

First off I would check your starter relay... Unbolt it from the car, and hold it in your hand while your turning the key.. See if the relay clicks... Also, you can verify the starter is OK by taking a paper clip or some other jumper wire and going across the pins on the starter relay.. If it starts you know its something before the relay, or the relay itself..

Try that and report back.

It's possible if you're dealing with an intermittant problem. You need to test the voltage at the starter as it enters from the starter relay. If there's no voltage then you know your starter is bad.

Your theory about the theft warning system being the problem is a good one.

so what did you do? did you take the starter off and test it at an autoparts store or something???

Did you go across the relay and it didnt work, im just kind of confused on what you tried.

yes i had it check at autozone, took the relay off and put a wire across the contacts,i also checked the power going to the starter ,it was very strong, that y i think it's the starter, also taped the starer with a hammer and had friend turn the key, still just click, also the car has 177,00 miles and i think that the starter has never been changed
