92 q45, Short in dash? No CD player, or AC display, and the clock doesn't work..

I have a 92 q45, and its the third one I've had...love em. The cd player(factory) worked for awhile, now only the lights are on...no display or sound. The AC/Heater display doesn't work either, the actual blowers work but I can't see where it's blowing or how hard. Also, the clock doesn't work. All the dash lights work fine, just no displays, is there are short problem? Fuses are fine, antenna works, all that. I need to get this fixed, help me out!!

Probably time to start tracing. Someone has done something wrong somewhere.

Presume since you are an experienced owner you know about the timing chain guides?

yeah, i have no idea what timing chains are, but i will say that there was a DVD/Navi player in the dash and it worked but the screen didn't work, so I put the factory cd player back in and like I said it worked for awhile and quit on me. Another thing is that the rear tailight goes in and out, so there might be a short back there but I've checked and it's been working lately so I don't know. I've taken the dash apart completely to check how things are wired, and nothing is touching improperly or cut, etc. So i'm not sure. Maybe the way the rear speakers are wired to bypass the factory amp is funky....?

This can be fixed by removing the half a** radio install and installing the OEM radio (Which by the way had no CD player in the radio but does control a CD changer in the trunk).

The clocks are also not fail proof so it may be bad.

But all of the above problems could be linked together somehow because of the wiring of the radio.
