My '92 Q45 Radio Won't Turn On. I have checked both fuses and found them to be OK. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! No tunes is a major bummer!

Do you have a multimeter to check for power in the harness connector? This would help determine if the radio was at fault.

There's also a 3amp (?) fuse behind the headunit. If that's the problem (I've had one go twice) then you'll need to replace that. Good luck finding the replacement though. I happen to have a spare 3amp if you can't find one.

Also remember that the HU is grounded through the antenna plug... so when you're checking for 12v also check the antenna plug shield for continuity with ground.

Got the same problem with our 92Q. Don't ask me how, but my son figured out how to get it going. (We have the Bose with the tuner and cass) After starting the engine, tap the cass button several times until the tuner dial goes off. Then tap the tuner button until the tuner dial lights up again (usually around 10 - 15 taps) Never did figure why it does this, but until I do (or until we swap out the whole system), I'll keep tapping away. Only takes an extra 10 seconds to get under way. Hope that helps!

Sounds like how we used to get our 15" tv to show a picture back in the day..

Ugh. My old Q45 head unit did that during a road trip. It took a series of button pushing and tape insertion/ejection to get it to come on. Fortunately, you can easily upgrade to a 94 HU (not 95+ without $18 adapter) and attach a Sony/Clarion Q45 CD changer.
