I need photos of the plugs for the controller and fuel pump. A mechanic made a mess of mine. I need to straighten them out to get my car running tiptop again.

Here's a picture of the connector that I cut off with a controller I bought recently at my local Pull-a-part junk yard.

The spice between the black wire and white wire that join into the brown wire appears to be something that was done at the factory. The brown wire is larger, so maybe it's some sort of shielded conductor that's carrying ground and 12V through the same jacket?

This controller was out of a 1991 Q, so I don't know if the color codes changed later.

Do you know why?

And according to the FSM they look like they connect the fuel pump and DON'T go to the ECU.

Do I know why what? Those are spliced together? No clue... I do think it's factory though. The splice and bare wire were wrapped in a very sticky blue tape, and the brown wire is branded "sumitomo" or something like that. Maybe it's the wire that feeds the fuel pump and splits back out at some point as a separate ground and positive voltage wire? I would have to have the full harness to know for sure what's going on. Unfortunately I butchered all of the junkyard units available to me, so I would actually have to clean out my trunk to research it further. If only I knew someone with lots of time on his hands with a Q that's usually disassembled in some form or another...
