I need to replace one of the Idler Pulleys that froze up on my Q. I just got the pricing inoformation and Woa! Over $160 for the 3 pulley set? I noticed that only the bearings are bad and look like they can be pressed out and new ones pressed in. Has anyone done this? If so, where did you get them and what sizes?

Not worth the effort, but you shouldn't need to replace them all, unless they've been improperly tensioned from a repair. I've only replaced 1 in also 200K Mi.

The replacement itself is easy, just make sure you have a good tourque wrench to get the LBS. correct, or you will be doing it all over again.

On my 92 with active suspension, only the P/S pulley is repairable. My other two look ed like a press job, but there is a rolled edge/ retainer preventing removal. It is almost lije a spacer sleeve around the bearing. I bit the bullet and bought 2 pulleys.

First pulley went out at 150k , 2nd at 190, 3rd at 220. I'm now on my 4th Q and haven't had to replace another since the first Q........:thumbup
