First of all, what I've had fixed.
- fuel filter- air filter- distributor cap- rotor- plug wires- and i think the plugs themselves - pretty sure
I had them all fixed by a mechanic as well as a diagnostic test. One of the big problems I have is i had them all done w/ out nissan parts. O well. So my problem is the fuel tends to "cut out" of the engine and leave it with no gas to run. So occassionally the car drops speed until the fuel reaches the engine again. Sometimes it helps to give it more gas, other times it doesn't so I switch it to another gear (it's a manual) and it will fix it. Other times not even that works and you are forced to keep trying gears lower and lower until the car will get gas to the engine. It is a really annoying problem if you have ever had it - especially after you have spent near a 1k dollars to fix it. THE CAR ISN'T WORTH THAT MUCH.
I know it is a 92 and it has 225k miles on it, which is a lot, but I swear the engine runs like it's brand new. I think it's a VG660E if that makes any sense, it's something like that if it makes any difference. I am comtemplating getting it fixed but I'm really tired of TRYING to fix it. I want to know what the problem is for sure before I invest money in it again. I have no ability to fix it on my own simply because I'm not blessed w/ the enthusiasm to explore my car. I haven't even looked at the engine since it's been worked on. The plug wires are the only noticeable change anyway. So if you could help me out I would appreciate it. If there is any more information you need to know, I can provide it.
The last thing I fixed on it was the plug wires and a mechanic that I trust said that sounded like the problem. So I got new ones and well...what do you know! it's not fixed....So that's all, any help would be greatly appreciated.
