92 nissan sentra, 4 speed, looking for pictures of what the control rod is spose to look like hooked up to the shifter, been looking everywhere,

Pic is the bottom of the shifter.

The piece on the left is the shifter stabilizer(after market bushing). The piece on the right is attached to the bottom of the shifter (which is the shifter rod) it runs to the linkage on the transmission. Either the shifter stabilizer bushing is jacked up and causing the rod to bind up or a motor mount is damaged or loose which is going to cause the rod to bind as well. The other option is the rod is bent, but my money is on one of the other two options first. Most of the time the bracket for the stabilizer bushing will break, especially after 17 yrs of use.



Here is where the other end of the rod attaches to the transmission, which has an aftermarket bushing as well.
