can some one pliz help. I have 92 maxima. started out with a slight knock in the motor, so I had a guy put a new motor in, but after that the transmission started acting funny. he said it was the torque converter and I got another put in. this did solve the problem. when Im at stand still, the transmission engages and disengages gear continously and each time almost dies on me. then when its time to go I press the gas pedal and the is no action just the motor revving, then all of a sudden the transmission engages and chirps the tires kinda roughly with a clunk. after that its smoooth shifting and going don the road till my next stop. would anyone know what causes this.

Ooops. I was typing challenged. I meant TPS. Throttle Position Sensor. The transmission uses it to judge throttle levels and decide when to shift.
