Hi all!

New to the forum, was hoping to get some help with an issue on a 92 Maxima SE (DOHC). Have a misfire on... not sure of the cylinder number. Front of the motor, furthest to the driver side. We've replaced the fuel injector which was dead, replaced all plugs with NGK, swapped coils with another cylinder to confirm they're good. Unplugging either the coil or fuel injector on that cylinder results in no RPM change still... Car idles rough, but smooths out at 2k rpm and idle does change when unplugging the problem coil then.. Sprayed some water around the intake at the cylinder, no rpm change. I'm at a loss.. any suggestions? :)

Thanks in advance!

Well, if your plug is good, your injector and coil pack are confirmed good (from swapping with a different cylinder), that only leaves one thing - mechanical issues in that cylinder itself.

Do a compression test, I bet you've got low compression in that cylinder. If you get a low compression reading, pour a few drops of oil down directly into that cylinder and re-test. If the compression raises up significantly with oil in the cylinder then you've just confirmed bad rings on that cylinder and thus have found your issue.

I'm running egr delete. Doesn't effect a cylinder. I agree with James
