My '92 nissan maxima heyless entry system is begining to age. The driver door buttons are beginning to wear to the point one wont work so I can only unlock from the passenger side. Anyway to inexpensively fix or replace the driver side key pad?

Can the factory alarm system be eaisly bypassed or turned off?

You could probably just find one of those keypads at a salvage for pretty cheap. Being in Chicago, you should have a good choice of yards around there.

The factory alarm is pretty... weak. There should be a fuse in the fuse box that will cut power to the alarm system. Prior to buying my Maxima my friend and I set the alarm off as he had this genius idea of unlocking the door from the inside as the window was slightly down. We just pulled one of the fuses and it killed the alarm.
