Alright, so i just decided to redue the timing in my stock 240. I tore it all down except for taking off the head. I also decided to change the intake and exhaust gaskets. I checked all timing marks perfectly had everything put back together. can hear no vacuum leaks. Start the car and idles perfect at 750 rpms. As soon as i push the gas pedal it start to lose rpm and stall. If I hold the throttle open it does stall. Any ideas of what i may have missed. I really don't want to tear down the timing again. I had another person check all marks before i put it back together along with me. I checked three times, and so did he. But I'm thinking I may have to recheck again. But REALLY would like so OTHER IDEAS!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

UPDATE ON STATUS!!

So I rechecked timing at TDC. Marks were perfect. So I decided to check all my valve clearances. All the valve clearances were good except for two intake valves being only 0.001 inch off. Which shouldn't make my car do what its doing. So I returned it back to TDC to find all my marks completely off now. Not what I wanted to see! So now I started to tear it down again. In the process I noticed that my chain tensioners don't seem to be putting pressure on the chain. They are brand new, so I'm hoping that i can see why they are not working or use the original tensioners being they still work properly.

So if you are working with an elder, and he has been in the auto mechanic business, and tells you something about what you are working on. You should listen. So anyways, I redid my timing. Made sure everything was perfect. Put it all back together, and my car still ran like hell. It idled perfect but once the throttle opened it died. Well two days ago if i would have listened to my elder this problem would have been fixed. He told me it sounded like the distributor was off one tooth. Well guess what, It was off one tooth. My car runs perfect.

So this ends my problem.
