** Yes, I searched for it... just want verification ***

Interesting problem - my rear defogger on my '92 Hatch *kinda* works... let me explain:

When i hit the switch, it lights, and the top 2 rows of the defogger work, only slowly. The rest of the window stays fogged forever.

Also, when it is active, my radio reception goes to hell.

I'm assuming this is a bad ground + possible broken connection on the window itself - any other suggestions or ideas?

Thanks in advance,

James

James it sounds as if one of the elements on your glass is broke. take a volt meter ,with the defroster on place one lead on the ground side of the glass[black connector oppiste the side with 2 black connectors. ] then place your red lead on each of the traces on the glass working from the top 2 that actually work [so you can see what a good reading looks like] you are working on the side of the glass about an inch from the side with 2 black connectors. when you hit a trace that has either no reading or a higher voltage [can go either way] you need to work with that traces. If you have a higher voltage work toward the side of the glass where you black lead is grounded. When you voltage falls off you found the break in the trace. If you get all the way to the large trace going up and down along the glass and still have voltage you need to work down it till the voltage is gone. If you had no power when you first found the problem at the 1 inch point you need to go the oppisite way till you find power again you found the break. most auto parts houses have grid repair kits for those.

This could also be a connection issue since you are having radio static problems. The place to look for that failure is where the wires go between the hatch and the body. pull the boot back so you can see the wires. see if any of them are broken or shorted together.
