Hey everyone. I am kind of new to this whole message board thing. I thank you for any help you can provide.

I just picked up a 92 Pickup with a ka24e and i have a manual trans for a 95 240 ka24de. My question is will this fit? Can i use that when this horrible auto trans dies. I have a list of items i will need, but i am having a hard time finding them.

1. ka24de manual trans - Will it mount to the ka24e?
2. Clutch and brake pedals from manual vehicle - Can i use the pedals from a s13 or s14?
3. Standard Flywheel and clutch - Can i use any setup for the ka24e in a 240?
4. Clutch Master and Slave - I would assume the slave should match the trans and the master has to match the truck.
5. Driveshaft - Custom? Or does anyone know any other vehicles that may have a driveshaft i can use?
6. Differential - Ok, so if you haven't guessed I would like to build a drift truck without welding in a 240 rear suspension mock up.
LSD will be a must, but not necessary right now...

Thanks guys! Again, I appreciate any help you can give me,

Welcome to NICO! I am currently in the middle of this swap on a 1991 truck. A link to my videos is in my signature, copy and paste.

1)KA24DE trans will bolt up but if it is out of a 240SX the shifter will sit further back requiring you to cut a new hole in the floorpan.

2)Clutch and brake pedal will need to come from a donor truck. Some people will cut the brake pedal to fit but for the amount of work it is to add a clutch pedal you will already be there to install the correct brake pedal assembly. It just looks more professional IMO.

3) Yes, you can actually use a flywheel from a 280ZX if you like as they are the same but a 240SX flywheel will bolt in too. As for clutch go for a truck clutch, they use more diameter for grabbing surface vs. the 240SX stock unit.

4) I'd check if the master from a 240SX is the same as on the truck. The slave should be. Master cylinders are cheap on Rockauto if you need one.

5) If you don't mind a two-piece driveshaft with a carrier then you should not need a custom unit. Any driveshaft off a 2wd manual regular cab truck will fit.

6) LSD for the 2wd trucks was only found in the heavy duty V6 long bed trucks with 4.3 ratio gears...unicorns essentially.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Rev. As I go along, I'll post pics of what I get and how the install goes. Good luck on yours, Maybe I'll drive up from jersey one day after it's done and drift around yours! LOL

Curious Rev, will i need to modify anything for the starter or even relocate it to use the 240 trans? Or will i have to fabricate a bracket for the starter install.

You need a different starter, one for a stick. No need to relocate. You will need to either modify the transmission crossmember or replace it with one for a manual truck.
