I just purchased the 92 hardbody and the mech fan was bad... the clutch went out and the fan would not move at all. So instead of buying a new clutch, i just slapped in a pair of 12inch elec fans that i had laying around in the garage. Now i know the mech fans spins all the time which keeps the coolant temps as low as possible. Should i just wire in my fans to run with ignition and resemble the mech fan or should i throw in an adj thermostat and kick them on at a specific temp..??

I know all other electric fans are controlled from sending units and that computer thing. Since yours was mech. to start with it probably doesnt matter much how you hook it up. If it were me I would some how hook to a thermostat setting allowing motor to get to correct operating temp before cooling kicks in.
