To make this simple and to the point, this thread here

zerothread?id=109345

I have a 98 240 with the dohc ka and i did the same stuff to it. Removed ALL unecessary crap from the manifold. Leaving it clean with less clutter and less crap to troubleshoot. The motor runs strong with no issues and yes my check engine light is on, but i can ignore it and i have for yrs....

I also have a 92 hardbody with the sohc ka motor (rather have the frontier dohc motor but its not in my budget right now) and i was wondering if the same can be done to this manifold... clean it up and remove all unecessary crap.

Is there a check engine light on this truck..?? I havent seen one yet nor has one lit up obviously...

What other than the Fuel Pressure Regulator, IACV (if it has) and brake booster line needs a vacuum source to not run into any issues...??

My 240 only has those 3 vacuum sources left from factory with zero issues..Im not the sohc expert which is why im posting....

Thanks

hey man, I have a 93hb i did this to friday, I remove the aiv stuff on the driver side inner fnder. that injects fresh air in front of the cat since i have no cat i dont need that.. may do egr next, all it needs vac to is fpr, scv, canister if you keep it.. and lets see if its on intake side, leave it there unless you delete egr then theres several you can take off, ill get pics sometime this week. hope this helps

Note to self...never buy a used vehicle from these guys.

It's clear you guys don't have smog tests and inspections where you live.

desert, no emissions here in TN, at least not my neck of the woods, I dont plan on selling either, had it for eight years, will have till wheels fall off or other reason,(hope nothing)... but however, i removed these things with care and kept all the parts, brackets incase we suddenly start having emissions requirements, nothing done that cant be replaced in a few minutes..
