well, finally im reinstalling the topend. though Ive hit a hurdle! my car is a 92 model, but im upgrading to second gen injectors. after reading on this swap, i was led to believe all i needed was the inject, rail, and including hardware, as well as the inject. harness. there was much deliberation about the plastic spacers under the bolts for the rail? but no info. regarding the rubber o-ring injector to rail mount.i assumed we used the 1st gen stuff. unfortunately the 1st gen o-ring and 2nd gen oring are different in size. both inner diameter for the injector and out diameter for the lower intake runners. do i need the 2nd gen runners to complete this swap or are you guys using the smaller orings in the 1st gen runners? how is that working out? the oring is there to keep the injector centered and in place. i hope i dont have to source later model runners for this. cars been down so long, cant remember the last time i drove it.

Will - There is a post on here about making the conversion. Basically, the Phase II rails can be used with the Phase I plastic runner rings. When the spacers are adjusted, the cone shaped Phase II injector cups will fit down into the larger Phase I rings to form a compression fitting.

When I got Phase II injectors, they came with the correct o-rings. I saved the post about the compression fitting.

Here's the post about the compression fitting.

Nothing much to add here. Use the 90-93 style bushings in the runners. I replaced one of the two spacers for the bolts that holds the rails down with two washers to bring the rails tighter to the runners.

I replaced my bushings with new ones because they were a little softer and seemed to fit a little tighter. At a minimum I would turn them over so you won't have the indention of the old injector rail tips there.
