Not without the whole '92 wiring harness and a bunch of damn trouble to wire it in...

Try a known-good S14 ECU, eh?

yeah thats what i did, and i just talked to a guy that said with that work and sice those cams are the big 92s, i HAVE to use the 92 ecu, and itd probably help even more to use a piggy back to lean it out a little. Ive already ordered both the SCI and the emanage, im trying to get the 92 ecu from a yard now,....we have ripped the engine apart like 3 times, cam timing, ignition timing, everythiong has been done....thanks everyone,m i think im gonna do theese things then slap a turbo on there and see what happens

Hehehe...bad info about the cam and ECU thing.

S14 ECU is actually more aggressive, so it's a better match to the more aggressive cams.

Many, many, many 240SX guys use all kinds of cams with the stock ECU in S14s and S13s...

For example, I made ~160rwhp N/A with S13 cams in my '96 motor, with a '96 ECU...no issues.

Forget about the S13 ECU thing...if you swapped in the '92 motor, but kept all the S14 sensors (TPS, MAF, temp sensor, distributor, etc...), then there is NO difference as far as the ECU is concerned.

Anyway, have you tried a known good S14 ECU yet?

and that worked?? Is the head and intake manifold ported?? Supposedly the cams were backwards when i got the engine, but the guy insists on him checkin the cams before it left. He also insists that the 92 ecu is needed and that it was on the engine when he shipped it. It wasnt. the car just simply lags all the way to 5500 rpms and makes all this loud *** broken honda sound as you accelerate, then at 5500 or so it just dies out....Theres all kinds of debate about why this is happening, the compression is like 180 all the way across, leakdown tests have been done, the fuel pressure checks out all the way from pump to injectors, tried 2 sets of injectors, 2 cam settings, timing all over the place, no matter what it does the same thing. Im freakin out about this now. My car hates me....lol. But yeah thanks for the help and ideas guys, but this is turning out to be the biggest engine mystery ever...maybe its so easy we dont see it. Whatever it is ill either find it, or buy another engine and see if i can tear this apart myself and put it all back together the right way with my own hands.-Bryan

Yeah, but the fact remains that you can use an S13 KA in a S14 with ZERO probems if you swap the stuff he listed.

Use only the head and block from the older motor, or vice versa.

And these ECUs have no clue (and don't care) what cams you're running...sure, an ECU tuned for those specific cams will make more power, but an S14 ECU with S13 cams (or JWT cams, or NM USA cams, whatever) will run just fine, and make good power.

Whoever the other guy is that's telling you this stuff, ignore him. He's a moron...
