Hey I posted this in the technical forum but im not sure if that was the right place. Apologies to Moderator's if Im wrong to repost this here

Hey peepsGot a 92 3rd gen Maxima.

Jumped in my car the other night and turned on my a/c and i noticed the display wasnt very bright at all. and during the day it was the same thing...i could hardly read it!

Is there a way to fix this? Maybe a brightness control somewhere or is the problem in the dash?

It has never hinted at all that it was about to die or anything just worked perfectly one night and now wont even light up enough for me to read

could it be a charge issue

thanks guys

EDIT: if im asking in the wrong place let me know

I believe it's a pretty common problem. There's a guy who fixes those old Nissan Climate Control units when the display goes bad, but I can't remember what his website is. I'll see if I can find it.You might also be able to find a replacement on ebay or the classifieds here for pretty cheap.

damn so there's no other way of fixing it without replacement or needing to take it out?

I don't think so. If it is adjustable, it'll be tied in with the rest of the instrument cluster and use the dimmer button next to the steering wheel.
