Do you know if the adapter solution will cause problems? (Like bearings, etc.) The zero offset 84 rims were replaced by a stock 92 wheel( 1" offset).

Non-hubcentric adapters have on occasion broke wheel studs. Shouldn't affect your wheel bearings or anything else though.

thanks. I am replacing it with a 1" offset to normal. Has anyone tried the G35 wheels with success - or offsets?

to clarify, offset is getnally related in mm, and in the case fo the 84 they are a +20 or +30, the ae's got the 7" wheel with the higher offset which is closer to the 7.5 n/a z32 wheels, the z32 wheels are a +45 assuming you have 7.5" n/a or front wheels, the tt rears are wider (8.5")and have a +35, so a 15mm spacer will get the 7.5's in the correct offset

spacers are used to get the wheel in the ideal position, if you put on too much spacer it increases the scrub radius and will put additional wear ont eh tie rod ends balljoints and other suspension parts, but if you get the wheel spaced properly it shoudl not cause any problems

the 92 wheels look closer to 25mm different than the stock 84's. Outside to inside dimension look that far off. I ordered 25mm and will see what the difference is. May need to send them back?

The '92 wheels look identical. Are they different front to back? The tires are the same spec:225 50 16.Are the wheels different?

all z32 n/a's came with 16x7.5" wheels with a +45mm offset, all 4 wheels share the same diminsions although they are true directionals and the righs are different form the lefts in style only

the z32 tt's came with the same frotn wheels as the n/a but the rears were a 16x8.8" with a +35mm offset, they look nearly identical to their narrower counterparts and are also directional, but all 4 wheels on a tt are actually unique do to the directional patters on each side and the width difference front to back so on a tt you can not rotate your wheels

your 84turbo z31 came with a 15x6.5" with a +30mm offset, unless you got the AE model which came with 16x7" wheels wiht a +20mm offset

you must remember that offset is different from backspacing, offset references the distance from the mounting surface to the center line of the wheel, the backsopacing refers tot he distance form the mounting surface to the inside fo the wheel, offset is reletive, a 7" wheel with a +35 offet wil have a different backspacing than adn 8" wheel with the same +35 offset although it will have an additional half inch of backspacing due to the added width of the wheel, it's the offset that determines the load center of teh wheel, grated the change in backspacing might cause clearance issues but to maintian the correct centerline fo the wheel you need a +15mm spacer

so the 1 inch wider wheels with additional offset will increase the backspacing by more like 40mm but the offset change is still only 15mm, wiht that extra 10mm of spacer hurt your car, not likely, it will increase the scrub radius but only 10mm with isn't a lot

most people running z32 wheels on a z31 run 1" adapters (25mm) to push the wheel closer to the outside of the body for appearance reasons

zks777:

Z32 wheels will not bolt onto Z31 front suspension without spacers/adapters. The offset is way too high.

I don't think you know what offset is. You're looking at the front of the wheels, aren't you? That has nothing to do with offset or backspacing.

I suggest you look at this site before making any more comments about offset and back spacing. You clearly don't get it right now.

High offset wheels look HORRIBLE on the Z31. You should try finding better fitting wheels.
