I have a `92 300ZX NA that stalls occasionally and randomly. Sometimes I could be driving on local streets and it just stalls all of the sudden. Other times, I could be exiting from a freeway and downshifting and it stalls. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why it's doing that. I lent the car a few friends and they've all experienced it at least once or more. Does anyone have any idea of what's wrong? Any constructive comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Check the MAF internal solder connections where the wire mate to printed circuit board* and the external connector for corrosion..................a job for the electronic experienced.

* Age, vibration, and temp cycles can make the 6 solder connections intermitent.

At this age all on/off electronic connectors may be problematic............electronic contact spray cleaners and dielectric grease to keep out moisture after the cleaning process.

Could be something simple like battery connections, IAC dirt.

A Z speciality shop will know just where to look first vs dealers who have forgotten these 10+ year old models.

Damn, I was hoping it wouldn't be that complicated... well my friends did recommend a shop which specializes in Z's... Exact Motorsports in Milpitas, CA. I guess I'll take it to them.

I didn't install a new exhaust recently, I bought the car used and it came w/ Magnaflow exhaust. I'll see what the shop says.

Thanks everyone!
