92 300zx n/a at transmission problems. Help!

I just bought a 1992 300zx n/a form some guy with transmission problems. The transmission does not seem to engage in D. But it will in 2 and 1. I ran the transmission diagnostics (the A/t light flashes). The first flash stayed for a couple of seconds, and then there were ten short flashes after. Is it true that the revolution sensor is out. If not I need help figuring the problem out. If yes then where is the revolution sensor located? Any diagrams?Apparently the guy before me was driving when the problem showed. He then drove the car on 2 all the way home.Thanx

ok I just found out that the diagnostics shows no problems with the electricals of the transmission(revolution sensor etc.)However the problem still persists. Heeeellllllllllppp!!!!thanks
