I threw a rod in my 240 the past weekend. It has 215,817 miles on it. Im trying to determine wether to just do an SR20DET swap or get a new block and anything else needed??? Any info is helpfull.

well weigh your options: is it more expensive to buy the SR and have it installed with a some what garuantee of 45-60K miles on it, or have the rod replaced and still have a 215K+ engine with a new rod.....

To add to the rod I have to get a block so im looking for that also. You can see the rod from outside of the motor. The block is toast.

I found a comlplet swap for about $2000JDM Nissan Skyline 240SX RB25DETComplete Engine,5spd RWD TransmissionWireharnessMAFIgnitorECU

In the s13, anyone know what else would I need for everything to run the RB beside what is listed?

Thanks for shootin some options. Spending over 3k right now is not possible. I don't have that kind of money. Im limited where that came from. What would be my cheapest/easiest way to fix this without halfa** doing it?

well instead of getting the 25 go for the 20. JGY Customs in VA have their 20's at 1500. Save alil bit of money, but dropping into a '92 the install might cost alil more. Thats what they quoted me cuz it is a rather large engine and the 20's don't fit as well in the S13 chasis as well as they do in the S14. Thats what they told me and since i've on a low budget also I decided to go old school and more gas friendly with the CA18. Basically a direct drop in like the SR would be. But I got quoted a while back and if I remember the main challenges are the motor mounts and drive shaft on the RB20-26....i think
