Im about to replace the clutch in my car due to the stock one slipping and was just kinda hazey as to details about the throwout bearing. Last time i replaced the clutch was in my 89 240sx but the guy i did it with walked me through it. Im not sure if we either skipped replacing the throwout bearing or he did it behind my back.

Basically i just need details on where exactly it goes, any special tools or anything needed for removal/install, or anything else that may help me. This is going to be my first solo clutch replacement and im gonna try desperately not to Eff it up too bad...

I searched and found a thread that gave detailed instructions with pictures but when they came to the throwout bearing step it simply said replace it without a picture or any sort of info.

Thankyou!

Just a rubber mallet.

when you pull the transmission you'll see attached to the fork, a small metal slider thing with another O attached to it. That bigger O is the throw out bearing. You can knock the throw out bearing off with the rubber mallet and pound the new one onto the bearing carrier.
