I just bought a '92 240sx se and i went to install my cd player and it didn't work at all. i checked the fuses, all good (unless the one labeled "audio" isn't for the stereo). upon closer inspection of the wiring i noticed that the wire that i think is the ground (from what i read) from the harness isn't attached to anything to the car. ie, there isn't anything that leads from the harness at all. i was wondering if that is my problem, and if it is, how should i go about fixing it. thanks

this happened to me as well. just connect a ring terminal at the end of the black ground wire coming from the radio and attach it to one of the four screws that is near the shifter (manual or auto dont matter). someone once told told me that the shorter the ground wires are, the less chance of engine noise.

I run all new wires for stereos. If someone palns to run an amp.I will not install radio until amp kit is wired.I like to run new speaker wires and everything.Only use antenna wires.
