like i said stock car/wheels/tires new trans installed 8000 miles ago, dont have any history because i just bought the car.. needle does not bounce at all. rests right at zero..needle does not jump or move sparatically it just seems to be reading faster than im actually going..... so i had my buddy pace me in a car that is also stock.. he said 60 and mine said 77?? any thaughts are greatly thanked

wrong rearend is one possibility or wrong transmission. it may be a transmission from a truck.
