92' 240sx maintenance tips anyone?

Hi everyone,

I just purchased a 92' 240sx LE with a KA24DE and 118k mi. on it. I'm new to the 240 world and new to the site.I already like this car very much, the classic jdm looks, the classic japanese feel. I fell in love with my 240sx as soon as I became the owner of it. I was just wondering if you guys had any tips on keeping this baby alive and healthy for a long time to come. (i.e. What's the best type of Oil, and what kind of gasoline i should use, so on and so forth). I am very willing to spoil and baby my new 240sx, so any type of input would be appreciated!

Well first of all congrats on the buy, since you havent said anything I'm guessing you don't have any mechanical problems with it thus far. Just keep up with maintenance basically. As far as oil goes I use Mobil1 synthetic and that works perfect for my '96. Just make sure whatever you choose to stick with it because its not good to mix different brands of oil and I say that because I'm sure you don't know what particular brand has been used before this. As far as gas goes, if its stock 89 and up will suffice but if it has some mods get the highest grade you can get. Other than that be good to her and she will be good to you, once again congrats and I'm sure whatever you need to know, you will be able to find it on this site.

gotta post some pics dude!!, yeah i would do what mychalous said, but i would replace all the regular maintance stuff like fuel filter ( i use the 300zx tt filter) ngk plugs and wires, air filter, coolant and such. thats what i did when i got my vert
