'92 240sx KA24DE Timing Spars

Anyone have a pic or know where the idle sprocket (Middle gear between the crank and the cam gears) is suppose to be set at with the crank at TDC? If I can not figure this out, I will be removing the main crank pulley, cover and all that other madness to check the chain placement on the lower sprocket.

Anyone have any info on setting up the timing on the lower chain? Checked FSM and it talks about using the marked links on the chain but wondering if anyone knows where the upper spar sits when timed right...?

Here are some pics of what I am running into...

At this angle the timing marks look off but, they are lined upTiming marks line up with the silver link so those should be goodNot sure about this mark but it looks like it should line up with some like maybe the silver link on the timming chain

It shouldn't be that hard... Just need to see a pic of that idler spar at TDC since I can't see the placement of the marks on the chain on the lower spar without taking everything apart. Got a lot of it all torn apart last night but have to disconnect the oil and water piping under the intake plenum. Easier said then done of course, lol... Just need to see if my marks are right on that one spar and I will be good to go. Have also searched the net and the FSM shows the mark sitting at another position but it references the marks on the chain which I have not got access to.

I am coming up with the same info you have.I can't find anything that shows it.I guess you are going to have to pull the cover.

The idler sprocket mark should be SET at 1:00 along with the mark from the chain...

check out the pic and count the links on the chain between the two sprokets. there should be 17 links. hope it helps.
