i never owned a 240 until now, and all i ever heard about 240's is how spunky and quick they are, then i bought mine, and it only has 70k on the engine, cuz the dumbass before me blew the old engine, so i replaced it. but its not that quick when i take off there is no difference in half throttle and full throttle... the acceleration is the same. i did a full tune up, fuel filter, plugs, wires.. etc... but what i wanna kno, is why my car isnt as spunky and quick like i heard, and another thing... after about 25-30 minutes of idling it will act like its choking and then die... it just sputters out, and then when im slowing down to a stop sign and have the clutch all the way in, the RMPs sometimes go down to about 400rpm's and then when i get fully stopped it shoots up to about 1100 and then levels out about 900.... can anyone help me, or is my car a lost cause untill i drop in the SR...and on top of that, heater takes forever to heat up and gas gauge dont work

OK, a few things:

Heater not working: Could be your thermostat is stuck, or there's a clog in the heater core. What kind of coolant temps are you getting after running a while?

On a similar note, check your coolant temperature sensor. A faulty one can cause all kinds of problems with the engine, from power loss to sputtering. I recently had to change mine and I couldn't believe the difference it made.

mine has similar problems. if i use anything electrical the idle drops significantly. the brakes, the electric seatbelt, anything. drops from about 6-700 to about 4-500rpm. the alt. is good the battery isnt great and could it be anything else?

the temp gauge reads real hot really quick, like i could start it in 12 degree weather and 3 minutes down the road it could read all the way to the top, but then quickly go back to normal temp, but my heater is still freezing cold

i replaced my coolant temp sensor 2 weeks ago actually because i was reading posts and the symptoms of my car sounded about right, and it didnt change, but if u think of anything else let me know, thanks for the post
