92 240sx headgasket blown

well i have a 92 240sx and i think the headgasket is blown, steamfrom exhaust, dead skip on cyl 3 and random skip on cyl 4 up to about 2500rpm where the skip becomes random on 3 and smooths out on 4, sweet smell comin from exhaust, is there anyway to check to make sure the heads not warped without takin it to a machine shop??? or is that my only way?

Only way to know for sure is if you take the engine apart and check it with a straight-edge.
