Hey guys - thought I'd ask your help on this one... I've got a '92 hatchback, and recently the "Check Engine" light has been coming on and off. I went down to the Nissan dealership for an oil change (best deal in town at $20) and had them pop the diagnostic computer on to see what the problem was. Turns out I have a faulty or screwed up speed sensor, according to the engine code. The light is on solid now, with ZERO loss in performance... I'm wondering if this is a part I should shell out for, or just ignore until after I'm done spending money on the things I WANT for the car. :D

If this is an essential part, then I'll have it replaced... otherwise, screw it I guess.

Please let me know,

James

if i am correct, the speed sensor is in your transmission and tells you how fast you are going.....my jacked up to...the best thing to do is go get another one from a wrecking yard... it is on the right side of the transmission underneath the passengers side...it is held on by one 10mm bolt.. or you can use a screwdriver....so really it is up to you to determine if you want to know how fast you are going or not....
