My front right wheel whines when I turn to the right. I mean its its loud. LOL It' a deep sound not high pitched. Not like objects rubbing. Well I thought I broke something. Except a few days back a heavy rain started and I was driving the car and noticed I could turn right and no noise. It's as if something was lubricated.

a deep whine? im having trouble hearing that sound in my head. like metal grinding? like a groan? like a wheel bearing roar? is it while you are turning the wheel or while you hold the wheel in the turned position through the turn? maybe the power steering belt is loose. that would cause noise both ways though.

It's like metal grinding. It is while I turn the wheel all which went away when it rained.

possible strut bearing, suspension contact, or bushings. see if someone can listen to it while you turn wheel. try it with the car off the ground too. check that your rack is bolted down snugly.

Well I had someone turn it while I was outside. It sounds to be coming from behind the wheel and the rotor. Does this help you anymore?

Thank you for the replies

rack?

The fsm is very vague on greasing it. Do I have to remove the other components? How would I go about doing this?

Regular all purpose grease?

Thank you very much for the reply.

Yea on your brake pads there is a metal "finger" that hits the rotor when your pads are 2mm or less to metal. It will rub the rotor making the most annoying screeching sound while your driving when you hit the brake the noise usualy goes away. Look att all your pads primarily the inside pads on the right side of the car.

Sorry for late reply but wilma knocked out electricity for days.It is while the steering wheel is being turned.

I lifted my car and noticed that the sound is gone while I turn the wheel in the air. Also I took the wheel off and the sound is gone. It returns when I put it back on the floor though.
