I have a '92 240sx with a motor from a '97. When i bought the car it ran fine except for a rough idle and when I would take my foot off of the gas the it would stay reved for a second before dropping. the battery died in it and it sat for two months before the battery was charged again. After the battery was charged and put back in the car it satrted up but no electronics came on. no gages, dash lights, interior lights, automatic seat belts. Nothing worked except for the healights and the engine. The lights wouldn't pop up just turn on. I let the car run for a little then reved it a few times and everything came back on all of a sudden. I drove the car around the block and when i mashed the gas it would bog down. At half throttle it seemed fine at first but then it started to bog down also. I came back home and tryed to rev it again and it barelly rev. I turned the car off and tried to sart it a gain and it wouldn't turn over, it made a clicking sound the first time i turned the key then nothing the second time. Now nothing works on the carexcept for the healights and they don't pop up. Could this have somthing to do with the computer being that it is an obd I computer an the motor came from an obd II car? When the battery died could it have reset the computer so that it bypassed what ever settings were programed to make it run with the new motor? Any sugesstions would be extremly helpfull.

No, even an ECU that is in the "learning" process for the injectors shouldnt run like crap.

Check the ECU for fault codes, check the wiring harness in the engine bay, including all relays and fuese.

Thats a starting point.....

Nismo 180, did you get this problem figured out? I am having the exact same problem as your electronics issue, and can't for the life of me figure it out

you can try checking your alternator looks like your alternator connection is not tight or a bad alternator cause seems like your battery is been draining out and not charging. you can try hook up a good battery and take off the negative wire of the battery see if it dies, if it does then it has something to do with the alternator like loose connection or bad alternator or fuse, but if it still stays on then its something else but do the first step to see how it goes and let us know first.
