Stock ka24de with 80k miles on original motor. No clutch replacements or anything to tamper with it have been done. Recently when i first get in my car and push the clutch pedal down it doesnt come back up and goes down very easily. After pumping it a few times it seems to get better and allow easier gear shifts. This only lasts about 3 minutes at most however before it gets loose again. Any ideas?

Thanx!

Could this be causing rough gear changes too? 4th gear is especially rough like the syncros or whatever are bad... Ive checked and followed the line the whole way but havnt found any leaks. I also decided to check my oil today cause i try to check it every 1500 or so and the dipstick came out perfectly clean...not one drop of oil... i guess im burning oil too huh?

Anyone wanna buy a car?

OK guys well its wasnt raining today so i jacked up the beast and crawled under. I followed the line from the clutch slave cylinder (i think) all the way back and still no leak so i decided to bleed the system. After bleeding it seems to be working fine. I took a nice little 20 min ride and didnt have to pump it once!

As for the oil, i dont notice anywhere that it could be leaking from. I park it in the same place everynight but theres no oil spots. I checked all around the engine but no signs of leaking. Any ideas?

Thanx!

then check the color of your exhaust. if it's got a hint of blue to it, then yeah you're burnin oil probably from valve stem seals but could be as bad as rings.

Would that cause my hydrocarbons to be high as well? I keep failing emissions for his hydrocarbons and cant figure out why. Timing is set right, all emissions stuff is hooked up, brand new cat put on the car less than 10k miles ago.

the exact same thing has happened in my car twice. Both times it was a slave cylinder that went out. What happens is that it gets worn down so the plunger doesn't stop where it should, so it leaves the pedal feeling goofy and the clutch not engaging in the right point. Next time you take a look at it, push on the boot that's around the plunger going into the slave cylinder, if a bunch of brake fluid oozes out, then you need a new slave cylinder. Luckily it's a really cheap and easy fix. about your question about making it shift weird, yes a bad slave cylinder can cause it to shift poorly, because you'll get to the point where you'll push the pedal all the way down but the clutch won't fully disengage. When mine went out, it got so bad that i couldn't even get the car into first gear without turning it off.

Treadjacked:

start w/ trouble code scan to verify coolant temp sensor/o2 sensors are working...

unburned fuel= HC soo check for fuel injector leaks/ weak spark as well... <shrugs>
