Hello All,

Situation: brake lights and shift lock both went out at the same time.

I already pulled both switches from the brake pedal and tested continuity. The stop lamp is positive and the A.S.C.D. cancel is negative.

I was wondering if a bad "A.S.C.D. cancel switch" will prevent the shift lock from operating.

Thanks in advance,

Jayson.

I've heard it mentioned several times that there is a rubber plug that fits in the mating surface of the brake switch that sometimes falls out. When this happens the switch is fine, but it just pokes through a hole rather than contacting something when the pedal is pressed. Any chance that's your problem?
