ok so we replaced our 92 240sx se ka24de motor this winter. found an s14 motor year unknown with 60k on it. put new rod bearings and piston rings in it. compression is at 180psi on all four cylnders. have a coulpe of injectors from both s13 and s14 in it. all tested at 11ohms. all egr equiptment is out of the car including the sensors on the back of the head. pretty sure all grounds are good. has header and CAI with exhaust hooked up. had to get a new dizzy from the yard and it is an s13 model.
we got it to start right off the bat but cam timing was off. plus we moved the spark plug wires so each plug fired on each cylnders compression stroke. adjusted one tooth and it started smoothly. when we tried to drive if you gave it any gas it sat on its face. then it wouldnt idle. unplugged the maf and it was slightly better. as soon as you plugged in the maf it died. tried this with two different mafs.
thought it was the fuel pressure regulator so we switched them out. after this the car wouldnt start at all.
reset the motor to tdc and set the dizzy at number one. and checked to make sure spark was on the right stroke. so this is an example of what its doing. starting with what cylnder is supposed to be firing on1-44-22-33-1
so im guessing that the dizzy is bad but i dont have a clue at this point.
i searched and herd that the fuel lines might be crossed so ill try switching them. there is no engine light and oil pressure light shuts off while cranking. any help at all would be appreciated.
